The Enchantment of the Fairies Series
Fate and reincarnation were two common concepts in the ancient world; cultures such as Celts, Greeks and Hindus based their religions entirely around these beliefs. Fate is defined as a predetermined course of events; a predetermined future, it is the concept that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos, where nothing happens by chance. Meanwhile, reincarnation is the concept that after our biological death our soul begins a new life in a new body, and it keeps returning to this world an infinite number of times.
The Enchantment of the Fairies is a fantasy Series that explores these two interesting concepts in the context of a beautiful and fascinating tale the romantic story of Jana and Philipp. The main events take place in the European city of Aachen, heart of the Empire of Charlemagne, at a time when the ancient religions are in transition of being replaced by Christianity, the story presents the struggle and reconciliation of the old traditions trying to survive while they are in the process of being destroyed or absorbed into the new faith.
The story consists of two books named Red and Blue respectively. Red is the story told by the perspective of the boy while Blue is that same story retold by the perspective of the girl. The two stories blend perfectly and seamlessly, the reader may chose to read the books in any order he chooses, each book is a complete story on its own. Each book follows the life of its main character from childhood to adulthood, presenting a breathtaking view of their dreams, aspirations and the main events that shaped their lives and personalities.
Despite the name, the book is certainly not a children's fairytale, it targets young adults, but the lovable story appeals to everyone to enjoy, it is a mix of adventure and romance with a background of Magic and Mysticism.

The Enchantment of the Fairies Blue eBook Jeanne Baptiste Felipe Carrillo
I have started to read Jeanne Baptiste's books 'The Enchantment of the Fairies' after seeing a post on a facebook group.I downloaded a copy of the Red Book first from Amazon and started the journey.
Perhaps the conjunction of a weekend at home with no internet connection and my passion for historical novels made me literally devour that book.
Since the beginning I felt dragged into the tale and I identified myself with Philipp: his battles with life, his joys and defeats, his hopes.
Moreover, the narration is framed by all those historical details which reminded me what I had studied in school. The Holy Roman Emperor of Charlemagne and his son, the Christianity over the Paganism, the wars for supremacy identified with a faith that nobody really knew, all mixed with the events of Philipp's life.
After the Red I was so curious to know what the Blue book was about and I was pleased to discover that it is the same story, in places and time, told by Jana, a princess, daughter of the king of Moravia.
I actually live in the Moravian region, which is now part of the Czech Republic, and I knew just few about the history of these places; the reading has been a charming lesson and an interesting discovery. The magic is deeply described in this book - also with the help of drawings - since Jana's family came from a long pagan tradition in which we find the root of the festivities and myths our society celebrates nowadays.
I have to say I liked more the Red because the narration is adventurous, Philipp's life changes frequently, he meets various people and visits different places, he has always new tasks to fulfill and desires to achieve. While Jana has a more stable life, but this is due to the fact that she is a female and she needs to behave according to the standards of that time.
But in the end Jana and Philippe's lives entwine and they embody the elevation of their souls, strong and united through the ages.
